This Privacy Policy describes how BookMarkr ("the Extension") handles user data. BookMarkr is built with a strict privacy-first, zero-knowledge, zero-tracking architecture. We believe your data belongs entirely to you, meaning your personal browsing habits, saved bookmarks, and customization options are never collected, monitored, or transmitted over the web.

1. Data Collection and Transmission (Zero-Knowledge Architecture)
BookMarkr does not collect, look at, store on remote servers, or transmit any personal data, sensitive user information, or web browsing history.

No Accounts Required: You do not need to log in, register an email, or create an account to use the Extension.

2. How Local Data is Processed and Managed

Saved Content (Bookmarks, Collections, Tags, and Notes): When you choose to save a webpage or sort it into collections, this textual data is committed entirely to your machine using the chrome.storage.local sandbox. This data never leaves your device.

Automated Screenshot Backgrounds: When the local screen snapshot feature captures a visual background representation of a saved page via captureVisibleTab, the temporary image element is structured, rendered, and saved natively on your machine's hardware disk layout. No visual pixel data is ever piped to an external endpoint.

Favicons: Favicon icons are loaded locally or safely requested using Google’s secure, built-in favicon utility link to match your saved grid cards.

3. Data Sharing, Selling, and Transfers

Furthermore, uninstalling the BookMarkr extension directly from your Chrome extensions dashboard page instantly deletes the entire local storage sandbox database from your hard drive permanently.

5. Third-Party Web Links
Your localized bookmark grid will natively contain hyperlinks leading directly to external websites. Once you click a bookmark tile and navigate away from your New Tab dashboard page, your web interactions are governed explicitly by the distinct privacy documentation of those destination websites.
